Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body? The one word that describes how I felt is embarrassed. Embarrassed about my body and embarrassed that I had let my body take control of me. When it came to nutrition, I had become accustomed to eating everything pleasing to the eyes, and my eyes had grown much larger than my stomach. I ate terrible, overate and had a complete lack of motivation to get healthy since I thought I was beyond the ability to change.
Why did you choose the particular program? P90X gets the most insane results, period! That is what I wanted. I wanted to beat my body into submission and prove to myself that my body would not have control over me. I wanted to take back control, and P90X gave me the best chance for success! What in particular did you like about the program you chose? The variety P90X gave always gave me something to look forward to and something to look forward to hating! I took Tony’s advice from a tweed of his that I read. “learn to love the workouts you hate”. Thats what I love about P90X; some of the workouts kick my butt so much, that I hate doing them, but I love how I feel when I am done. Asylum was just pure nuts!!! I have never had more fun getting my butt kicked in my entire life! This put me into elite shape!!!
Tell us about the greatest challenge you faced. How did you overcome that challenge? The greatest challenge for me was establishing my workouts as part of a daily ritual. I had to force myself to wake up at 5:30 am EVERY morning in order to ensure I completed my workout for the day. If I hit the snooze button and decided to do the workout later that night, I usually ended up not doing the workout. So making sure my workouts gone done at the same time EVERYDAY was the biggest challenge.
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody® program. What achievements are you proud of? With P90X I lost over 50 pounds and 20% body fat!!! I never ever thought in my life that I would have a six pack! The best part is that I did it all in my living room for about an hour a day. It was p90x and p90x alone, nothing else! I have had people tell be that I am a walking p90x ad! Never thought i would hear that! I am most proud of taking back control. Taking back control of my body, my diet, my attitude and most of all, I am proud that I am now honoring God by taking care of the body he blessed me with.
How did your Team Beachbody® Coach support you on your journey? Motivation Motivation Motivation! He got the results that I wanted and that pushed me SO HARD!!! Without my coach, I would not have made the decision to dedicate myself 100% to the workouts and nutrition. My coach showed me that the results I wanted were possible!

I really adhered to everything – the nutrition plan, the full workouts, even if I could barely move by the end, I finished them. I had a chalkboard before we started and I wrote a big 90 on the board. Every day I finished a workout I would go and erase that number. It was one thing that really kept me going.

I am so proud of what I’ve accomplished with P90x and Beachbody. I am feeling healthier than I have in my entire life. I even bought a bathing suit this year – I don’t think I bought a bathing suit in my entire 20s! I don’t plan on ever going back and living the way I was before P90x. This is going to be a long-term thing for me.

Are You Hungry? How Hungry?

The Hunger Scale

Did you know that there is a Hunger Scale that can help you determine just how hungry you are? The scale ranges from 1 to 10, and if you aim to stay at 5 or 6, your eating will likely remain under control.

But how do you do that? It’s best to eat when you’re at 3 or 4, so that you don’t get down to 1 or 2 and overdo it. Also keep in mind that when you first feel hungry, it’s easy to mistake thirst for hunger, so reach for a glass of water.

Here’s the Hunger Scale:*
10: Stuffed. You are so full you feel nauseous.
9: Very uncomfortably full. You need to loosen your clothes.
8: Uncomfortably full. You feel bloated.
7: Full. A little bit uncomfortable.
6: Perfectly comfortable. You feel satisfied.
5: Comfortable. You’re more or less satisfied, but could eat a little more.
4: Slightly uncomfortable. You’re just beginning to feel signs of hunger.

Slow down when you eat

Eating should not be a race. Hurrying through a meal causes you to miss most of its delicious flavors, not to mention that you’re likely to eat way more than you should. That’s because your body doesn’t recognize it’s full until twenty minutes after you’ve eaten too much.

So instead, go slower. Put your phone down. Turn off the television. Chew slowly and focus on each bite, putting your fork down between them. By doing so, you’ll reach that feeling of satiety without ever feeling like you need to unloosen your belt a notch.

Watch When You Eat

Don’t “graze” yourself fat. It’s easy to eat 600 calories of yummy food by cleaning up what’s left over from your kid’s meal, or by grabbing a handful of something from the pantry every time you go into the kitchen.
